Professor Paul Hofman presented the current challenges of predictive biomarkers, which are essential for tailoring treatments to the biological characteristics of each patient. He particularly emphasized the importance of accurate molecular diagnosis to optimize access to targeted therapies. Additionally, he participated in a practical pathology workshop, facilitating the sharing of protocols with international teams in attendance.
Screening: Rigorous Organization for Early Detection
The prevention component, a strategic pillar of the IHU, was led by Professor Charles-Hugo Marquette. He detailed the essential success factors for the deployment of effective lung cancer screening. He stressed the importance of rigorous selection of at-risk populations and structured multidisciplinary follow-up. As an expert, he also contributed to a clinical workshop on the management of pneumothorax.
