On 3 and 4 November 2025, Nice will host the XI International Conference on Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS), a major international event bringing together experts, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
Organised by the International Society for the Study of Emerging Drugs (ISSED), in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA), and several renowned universities (Trento, Hertfordshire), the conference will highlight the scientific, clinical, and societal challenges linked to novel psychoactive substances. The programme will cover topics such as prevention, detection, regulation, and the impact of these substances on public health.
Professor Paul Hofman, Director of IHU RespirERA, will speak on the theme of addiction and respiratory diseases, focusing on the effects of toxic substances on lung health and their role in the development of respiratory illnesses.
His contribution reflects RespirERA's commitment to placing respiratory health at the centre of international scientific debates.
