Liquid Biopsy: Pr Paul Hofman Honored with the ISLB Research Award 2026

Professor Paul Hofman, director of IHU RespirERA, has been recognized by the International Society of Liquid Biopsy (ISLB). He will receive the ISLB Research Award 2026, a prestigious honor awarded for his outstanding contributions to the field of liquid biopsy, a technique that allows tumor components to be analyzed from a simple blood sample.

This award highlights a career dedicated to innovation in cancer diagnostics, particularly in lung cancer, closely aligned with the scientific priorities of IHU RespirERA.

As part of this recognition, Professor Hofman has been invited to participate in the 8th Annual ISLB Congress, which will take place from November 7–9, 2026, in Madrid, Spain.

During the event, he will deliver a dedicated Award Lecture on November 8, 2026, sharing his expertise and latest advances in the field of liquid biopsy.

This distinction underscores the impact of Professor Hofman’s work in developing new approaches for early cancer detection and monitoring. It also reflects the key role of IHU RespirERA in respiratory health research and innovation, notably through the integration of cutting-edge technologies and biomarkers—measurable biological indicators that help detect and track cancer progression.

This international award recognizes Professor Hofman’s commitment and strengthens the visibility of IHU RespirERA as a leading institution in respiratory and oncology research.
