Trek Solid’air 2026: a strong mobilization in Nice to raise awareness of rare mutation lung cancers

A committed launch in Nice for Trek Solid’air 2026

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, IHU RespirERA joined the launch of the 3rd edition of the Trek Solid’air in Nice, alongside the ALK Ros1 France Lung Cancer association.

Held at the Hôpital de Cimiez, this first stage marks the beginning of a nationwide journey driven by hope, solidarity and resilience. This edition is particularly symbolic as it celebrates the association’s 5th anniversary.

This key moment in Nice brought together patients, healthcare professionals and relatives around a shared goal: increasing awareness of rare mutation lung cancers and strengthening collective engagement.

Raising awareness and bringing people together around lung cancer

This inaugural stage provided an opportunity to:

  • Raise awareness of rare mutation lung cancers (specific genetic alterations in tumors, such as ALK+ or ROS1)
  • Encourage exchanges between patients, healthcare professionals and local stakeholders
  • Create a convivial and unifying moment

The event also highlighted a major issue: the importance of access to genetic testing (analyses used to identify molecular characteristics of tumors) and targeted therapies (treatments tailored to these alterations) to improve patient care.

A national event focused on sport and sharing

Trek Solid’air 2026 takes place from April 15 to May 4 across several cities in France and, for the first time, in Switzerland.

The program includes 5 to 10 km solidarity walks organized around partner hospitals, followed by convivial gatherings within thoracic oncology departments.

Under the theme “Sport and cancer: moving to preserve vitality”, the initiative promotes physical activity as a key factor in patients’ well-being.

Building on the success of previous editions (200 participants in 2024, 350 in 2025), the 2026 goal is to gather 400 walkers across 8 stages, including Montpellier, Lyon, Lausanne, Paris and Toulouse.

IHU RespirERA committed alongside patients

Through its participation, IHU RespirERA reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness of respiratory diseases, advancing innovation in thoracic oncology, and improving patient care pathways.

The institute works closely with associations and healthcare stakeholders to promote knowledge and access to medical advances, particularly in lung cancer.
